• The 2026 Municipal Election takes place on Monday, October 26th.

• There are four (4) dates during the advance voting period for an elector to vote by paper ballot. 

• In Alliston, paper ballot votes can be cast at the Alliston Memorial Arena on: Thursday, October 15 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

• There are also paper ballot locations in Beeton & Tottenham – and all locations are open to all electors in all wards.

• Online voting will start Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at noon.  It will run until the close of voting on Election Day – Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8 p.m.

• Although online voting will be the only form of voting on Election Day, all library branches and Town Hall will be open. Electors can attend any one of these facilities to cast their vote electronically. Election staff will be present at each facility to ensure a smooth experience for electors.

For the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, New Tecumseth voters can cast their ballot in person ONLY AT THE ADVANCED POLLS. On Election Day, Monday, October 26, online voting is the only option and the polls close at 8 p.m.

Information on how to vote online will be sent to each registered voter in the Ward by mail, including the URL and a unique PIN. Once a person has voted electronically they cannot vote again.

Advanced Polling dates are:

• Thursday, October 13th, 2022 (10:00 am – 8:00 pm)

• Saturday, October 15th, 2022 ( 10:00 am – 4:00 pm)

• Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 (10:00 am – 8:00 pm)

Anyone can vote in a municipal election who, on the day of the election, is:

• a resident of the municipality or an owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such owner or tenant;

• a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old; and

• not legally prohibited from voting.
